IT Health Check

A guided NZ business IT assessment with Tier1 scoring, plain-language risks, and clear next steps—not a sales quiz.

What you get

A preliminary, self-reported view of your broad IT controls, explained in practical language you can share with co-owners or managers.

  • A deterministic risk score and maturity level
  • Verified priorities and immediate quick wins
  • Relevant Tier1 services and plain-language resources

Use the Health Check with an AI assistant

Tier1 also publishes the read-only tier1-it-assessment MCP server at https://mcp.tier1.nz/mcp. It uses Streamable HTTP and exposes the same deterministic assessment, public domain-security evidence, recommendations, resources, and indicative pricing tools for compatible AI clients. A web search does not connect an assistant automatically; add the endpoint to an MCP-compatible client or find Tier1 in the official MCP Registry.

  • Retrieve the IT Health Check questions and deterministic scoring rules
  • Check public email-domain security evidence
  • Score a completed Health Check and retrieve relevant recommendations
  • Retrieve Tier1 resources and the managed-services pricing catalogue
  • Calculate an indicative managed-services estimate

Frequently asked questions

How long does the online health check take?

Most people complete the guided assessment in about five minutes. A separate formal review with Tier1 may take longer depending on scope.

Does AI decide the risk score?

No. The score and severity levels come from fixed, testable Tier1 rules. AI only helps explain the verified result in plain language.

Is this a formal security audit?

No. It is a preliminary self-assessment designed to surface useful questions and next steps. It does not replace a formal audit, compliance review, or penetration test.

Do you store my answers?

Draft answers stay in your browser tab. When you request a result, answers are processed for that request. See our Privacy Statement for the full processing boundaries.

What should I do after I get a result?

Use the priorities as a discussion starter with your internal team or with Tier1. Many businesses book a consult to turn the findings into a sequenced plan and budget.
